I can't start PlatiScan because the icon is missing
  1. - You can find the platiscan.exe under "C:\Platiscan"
  2. - With a right click on it, the context menu will open
  3. - Under "send to" you will find something like "copy to desktop"
  4. - If you click on it, you should find the icon back on desktop
Up

The RegKey for PlatiScan is missing
  1. - To get your RegKey please contact support@platiscan.com or call +49-711-7196832 / +49 (0) 172 141 50 37
  2. - Please have your PlatiScan serial-no. at hand
Up

PlatiScan didn't start - RegKey expired?
  1. - The evaluation period of your PlatiScan system has expired.
  2. - Please contact the support
Up

PlatiScan starts but not the CANON SDK!
  1. - Activate the "CANON SDK" under "Extras" -> "Camera source"
  2. - If this option is not valid then you only have a developer system.
  3. - If you click on the CANON SDK a extra window will open
  4. - Switch on the camera if it isn't on yet, then press "Reconnect"
  5. - Initialization will start and the live-preview should appear
Up

I have connected the cam to the PC but I can't switch to CANON SDK
  1. - This is a developer system and is not usable for live-preview
  2. - For more information please contact the support
Up

Camera and CANON SDK runs but I still see no live-preview in the SDK
  1. - Press "Reconnect" on the SDK
  2. - The camera will now be activated again and the live-preview should appear
  3. - If not check if the camera-mode is in the "Play-Mode" (A640)
Up

The taken images are too bright / dark
  1. - Reset the SDK-settings

      - Flash = off
      - Camera output = off
      - Exposure = TV
      - White Balance = Flourescent
      - Exp. Comp. = 0.00
      - ISO = 80 (50 if available)
      - TV = 0.8sec

  2. - If you now take pictures they should be normal lighted.
  3. - If the picture is still to bright or dark then play a little bit with the "Exp. Comp."
  4. - The "TV"-option shouldn't be changed if not necessary
Up

While I calibrate the system I get different values using the same measurement
  1. - Are all 4 lamps on?
  2. - Is the Repro placed on 59cm read from above?
  3. - Is the picture size set to "Large"
  4. - Check if the calibration template is placed correctly under the camera so that you see all four circles
  5. - Check if the black square is placed in the upper left corner
  6. - Are the gray and uv filter installed on the camera?
  7. - Is the correction value inserted (only if written on the template)?
Up

What should I write down at Comment when I start a new project?
  1. - Here you can write down all information needed to repeat the test.
  2. - Maybe: Height of the camera, number of lamps, special settings for the SDK, specials with power supply, and so on.
Up

PlatiScan says I have to many catch points
  1. - Activate the "precatch" check for the corners
  2. - Delete unnecessary precatch frames.
  3. - To view all precatch frames activate "View all" -> "View" or deselect "Only testframes"
  4. - For a board there are 2 precatch and 2 fiducial catchpoints required to catch it properly
  5. - For panel often also only 2 precatch points are sufficient
Up

The board is not catched properly, why?
  1. - Check the contrast of the fiducials and the precatch frames
  2. - Is "Autocatch" activated under "Extras"?
  3. - Maybe you have to change the catch method
Up

I can't get a good contrast, what can I do?
  1. - Try to use a colour-picker to get a better contrast
Up

Pre-Catch and Fine-Catch are done but I still don't see the small blue dots, what should I do?
  1. - Press "Edit" -> "Catch board" or the key combination "CTRL + T" the dots should now be visible.
Up

Two frames above each other, I can't select the smaller one, what should I do?
  1. - With right click on the bigger one the context menu will open
  2. - Now choose "Background"
  3. - The bigger frame is now in the background, you can achieve the same effect if you select the frame and press "B".
Up

After the CAD-import all devices are stuck in the top left corner, why?
  1. - Check the import-file if all component information is in the same row and separated by the same field separator
  2. - Check if the "Import-Schema.INI" is correctly configured and all the fields are in the right order.
  3. - Check if the separator is correct and change it if not
Up

The import worked, but if I move the device I also move my catchframes, how can I stop this?
  1. - If your are finished with the catch points, activate "View" -> "Only testframes"
  2. - Now only the test frames will be displayed.
  3. - And now you can move the frames without the catch frames.
